GCDA has applied the principle of community development for nearly 40 years and it underpins all of the work we deliver and support.
Community development is a process where people come together to act on what’s important to them in sustainable and meaningful ways; co-operatives can be seen as some of the earliest forms of community development.
Community development is rooted in the belief that all people should have access to health, wellbeing, wealth, justice and opportunity.
Our training in community development and this includes the following:
- Action research training – how to plan and deliver
- How to host community consultation events
- Theory of Change – what is it and why is it important?
- Governance models of community participation
We can also deliver bespoke training to your organisation on any of these subject. If you would like to find out more, please contact mel@gcda.org.uk
