Culinary Skills for Changing Food Trends
Food trends are evolving so quickly, it’s hard to keep up! This free 4-week course explores the changing trends sweeping the nation’s restaurants including gluten & dairy free meals, plant-based menus and reduced sugar options. Essential for anyone with a passion for food, or who works in the food industry & wants to expand their offer to increase their customer base.
Knife Skills
Whether you work in the catering industry, or just love creating in your own kitchen, good knife skills will save you time, reduce waste and save you money. This free 3-week course will teach you safe knife handling, different types of knives & their uses and build skills and confidence sharpening knives and new cutting techniques.
Healthy Eating and Nutrition
GCDA can run a series of healthy eating courses to cover what constitutes a healthy diet and how to make gradual changes that can have a big impact on our health. We also run train the trainer courses to develop staff to be able to deliver these messages in fun, interactive and accessible ways. Cookery Clubs
Perfect for anyone wanting to develop their cooking skills and to be able to make affordable, delicious, quick and healthy meals, our free 5-week cookery clubs are run throughout Greenwich and Lewisham and are open to all. Each week we tackle a different topic and explore how to make small, gradual changes that can have a real impact on health. Run by qualified tutors, everyone is welcome to learn, cook and eat together.

Food Project Training
GCDA runs a 1-day food project course, perfect for anyone wanting to learn more about how to set up a food project; be it a food bank, a box scheme, growing project, community or holiday meals programme, or anything else related to food!
