Here at GCDA we have been trying to sow the seeds of regeneration and hope this Spring. After the huge success of our Christmas card design competition (which raised over £1000 towards vital meals for local people during the winter months), we decided to launch a new challenge to celebrate love and friendship. People were asked to submit entries for a card that could be thought of as a hug in the post and which would include sunflower seeds to plant in the garden or in a pot.
We received a range of beautiful entries. You can check out the designs here. We asked the public to vote for their favourite and they chose a gorgeous design by Heather Pacic featuring a water colour painting of flowers in pastel tones. Runner up was Ellen Strachan, with a stunning garden-themed lino print.
Both cards are available to buy online from Made in Greenwich. Heather’s cards come (as previously mentioned) with sunflower seeds, whilst Ellen’s design (which has been printed in black and white) contains a little pack of vibrant pencils so you can get crafty with some mindful colouring! Each card we sell will help raise money towards growing projects in Greenwich and they will help you spread a little love too. Click here for Heather’s card, and here for Ellen’s
